Why would you need to see a Clinical Nutritionist? 
A Dietitian receives referrals for a variety of reasons. This referral can be from a G.P. or Hospital Consultant or directly from the person who would like to be seen. The following are a list of medical conditions that often necessitate being seen by a Dietitian. Dietary advice can play a very valuable role in the care & treatment of certain medical conditions

For example: 

Weight Reduction & Weight Management

Diabetes - all types 
High Cholesterol 
Hyperlipidaemia & Heart Health
Coeliac Disease
Diverticular disease/diverticulitis
Low Body Weight
Malnutrition

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - including FODMAP diet

Nutrition & Pregnancy 
Nutritionally banaced eating plan
Constipation 
Crohn's Disease/Ulcerative Colitis
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Enteral (tube) feeding


What's involved when seeing a Dietitian? 
A New Appointment will take approx. 1 hour. I will do a Nutritional Assessment, Dietary Assessment, Discuss your Meal Plan with you and then go through your Eating Plan, which is individualized to suit you.  Any review appointments usually last for 20-30mins. Patients are seen on an individual basis, i.e.: not in a group setting.

Fees

New appointments (1 hour) cost €120. Review appointments (30-45mins) cost €50-65. All fees may be claimed back from your Health Insurance company as part of your Out-Patient expenses. Contact Ruth for reduced fees for Couples & Families
